Aims:
Membership:
  • To support the role of artists who are living and working in the Horsham District of the South East of England
  • To advance the appreciation of, participation in and support for the visual arts on the part of the public in the region - in doing so make the arts more accessible and beneficial to the public.
  • Members are selected on the basis of their professional intent within a wide spectrum of art related disciplines that range from: art therapy, printmaking, painting, sculpture, textiles, film making, photography and graphic art.  (see members page for how to join)

We run exhibitions, hold talks and discussions, run classes for adults and children, undertake both temporary and permanent public art projects and provide affordable studio space

Why become a member?

  • You can exhibit and potentially sell art work in the regular exhibitions run by members

  • You can meet up with other practicing artists to discuss work and experiences

  • You will be represented in the photographic database of artists for use by potential commissioners

  • There are opportunities to be involved in educational and community art projects

  • You can share in the technical expertise of other members

  • You can share in the publicity of individual courses run by members

  • You can rent affordable studio space and work amongst other artists (when spaces are available) at the Drill Hall in central Horsham

  • You can hire the community room to teach or work in at far cheaper rates than other venues in the town

 

2by 4 Artists are expected to be professional in what they do.  (But not necessarily earning a living from their work.)  They are selected from a wide spectrum of art disciplines.  All members whatever their art practices are expected to give some time to all the activities that they become involved in and to attend meetings as often as possible.  Those taking part in 2 by 4 exhibitions are also expected to give some time to preparation and invigilation.

Annual membership is £50 and is payable on selection.
